WHO WE ARE

We are a house of prayer building night and day prayer & worship in the Bay Area.

We are committed to prayer, God’s Word, fasting, the Great Commission, and to understanding and spiritually preparing for unique dynamics of the end times.

Our vision

Our vision and purpose is to build a night and day prayer and worship reality for the worthiness of Jesus. We want to do on earth what is being done in Heaven. Malachi 1:11 says it best: "For from the rising of the sun, even to its going down, My name shall be great among the Gentiles; in every place incense shall be offered to My name, and a pure offering..."

We are committed to the first commandment being in first place---to love God first and foremost---with all of our heart, soul, mind and strength, and from that place have the second commandment bursting forth from our innermost being.

We offer equipping in the worship and prayer model that we use in the prayer room. We also offer biblical study classes, seminars, conferences, services with preaching and teaching on a regular basis, all to fuel a prayer culture both corporately and individually. We are convinced of the need to build a prayer culture for the hour in which we are living as the return of Christ approaches.

In addition, we take seriously to pray specifically for the 50-mile radius of our particular region and to regularly lift up the whole Body of Christ in this region including all the churches and other ministries. As a regional prayer room, we exist to partner along side them.

Amy + Dan Knight

Dan and Amy are founders along with Jim Stilwell at the East Bay Prayer Furnace. Amy serves as the Prayer Room Director giving oversight to the daily activities of the prayer room. Dan provides pastoral oversight and serves on the leadership team that strategically plans for regional prayer events, as well as serving as a prayer room worship leader .

Jim Stilwell

Jim Stilwell is one of the founders of the East Bay Prayer Furnace.  Launched in September 2006, the East Bay Prayer Furnace began with a handful of people eager to pursue night and day prayer and now is providing approximately 30 hours of prayer weekly. In 2017, Jim was launched from East Bay Prayer Furnace into the Sacramento region to plant another house of prayer. We now have TWO houses of prayer under one organization: The Prayer Furnace, Inc.. Our houses of prayer collaborate with each other with training and building night and day prayer in both regions.
